The first part of May 2008

Wow, I can't believe that May is almost over! However, the first part of our May was VERY busy and FULL of people getting hurt! URGH

We first took Gabi to the dentist for the first time. If any of you KNOW Gabi well, you know that she does NOT like any type of doctor's office, especially if they talk to her or look at her or have to TOUCH her! So, needless to say, having her teeth cleaned by one of them was just off the charts! However, we were blessed with a WONDERFUL hygentist who really made Gabi feel easy and she did it! Gabi had her teeth cleaned and was proud to show you! Yippy for you Gabi girl!

Buba and his girlfriend (literally, the girl next door) went to a dance at the beginning of this month. This is Emerald, or Emmy as we call her. She is the sweetest girl and such a great kid. Jack has really grown up alot since meeting her. It is really sweet to look out across the field and see them playing around with Emmy's 5 other brothers and sister. Jack really fits in over there!

Jack took this picture with his Dad's cell phone at the dance.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day wasn't the best this year. We started the day off with a problem with the basement toliet, which had backed up all over the bathroom down there. URGH Then Frank wasn't in such a great mood after that, which in turn, makes me sort of .... well, cranky! After church, Frank wanted to take the girls and Jack to the park on post. So we headed out there to spend some time together and to enjoy the beautiful weather. Leah and Mommy went for a walk, while Daddy and Gabi played at the park. Buba, as all teenagers do, left us and went to ride his skateboard down some steps. We still managed to have a great time together in the end.

My beautiful Leah on our walk.

Daddy and Gabi play on the tire swing.

Daddy took us out for Pizza at this great little place here in Great Bend. Their pizza is TERRIFIC! Here is Buba and Gabi together! They really are so sweet together, and always have been!

Here is Buba coming down the steps. After many tries, he finally did manage to make it all the way down without falling off at all! Go Jack!

Here are my girls! Gabi isn't the friendliest person in the world but she does love her sister. Aren't they cute?

Now, Mother's Day may look great and wonderful but around 7:30 p.m., Frank decided to put a HUGE damper on it! (Not on purpose though!) Frank got into a motorcycle accident about 0.8 miles away from the house. What a scary night that was! Thank God, he had on a helmet and God was holding him. He was about 10 feet away from a telephone pole and the motorcycle could have landed on him easily. He was really out of it until about Wednesday but thank God, he is better now. The motorcycle did have a little bit of damage but nothing major. I am just thankful that he is alive and alright now. He is being seen for neck and shoulder pain and seeing a chiropractor but he will be fine. THanks for all of your prayers!

We go swimming quite often as a family. On this Friday evening (this past), Jack stayed at the neighbors house because it was Emmy's birthday party. We took the girls to the pool thinking that it would be nice to just sit with them and have a good time. This was the first time that Leah had ever been in the pool. Gabi, as you all know, LOVES the pool.

Here are my girls showing off their smiles! Well, at least Gabi is!

This is Leah's first time in the big pool! She loves the water too!

Daddy and Mommy took turns passing Leah around. We both wanted to hold her but we both wanted to take pictures!

Leah loves the water. We knew that she would enjoy this because she does love her bath so much!

This is a routine face of Gabi's. I'm sure MANY of you have seen this look before! Heee heee

I started playing "This Little Piggy" a long time ago with Ella. She loves to do this and really thinks it is funny when Frank does it. So, while she was in the pool, Daddy decided to play with her. I just love her sincere smile! It is hard to capture but it really shows you just how happy she can be!

Right about the time I took Leah out of the pool and in the back to get her changed back into her clothes, my cell rang. Here is was my sister telling me that Jack was on his way to the Emergency Room by Ambulance because he fell and broke his arm (all this in the same week that Frank wrecked his motorcycle). I couldn't believe it. He was playing around with some of the kids at Emmy's party and was chasing them. He tripped on a rock and landed on his arm, braking BOTH of the bones in his left forearm! Way to go Jack!

I was very proud of him though! You can really tell alot about a person by the way they handle themselves when they are in pain. Jack never was worried about himself. We felt bad that he ruined Emmy's party. He felt bad for the girl that he was chasing because she kept saying it was her fault. He kept telling me NOT to worry. He never cried or got upset. He was SO polite to all of the people that were taking care of him. He was polite and used Sir and Ma'am to everyone that talked to him. I was such a proud Mommy that day!

Here is the xray that the hospital did the night Jack did this to his arm! He really did it good huh?

The doctor had to put Jack under in order to set both of the bones in his arm. So, after the surgery, I had to capture Jack at his sleepiest time. He was so brave and strong. I'm so proud of him!

Here was Jack walking out of the hospital! He really was a great patient!

And then to top this week off, I thought I would add alittle something. Monday night, I felt this funny thing on the back of my head. When I got home from Bible Study, I went into our bathroom and looked in the mirror. I had a bald spot about the size of a dime around the middle top of my head. I got scared because when I looked at it, there was something in the middle of it. I wound up squeezing stuff out of it but it hurt so badly. I called the doc and made an appointment for the next morning. When we got to the dermatologist, he explained that he thought it was a cyst that had ruptured. He numbed it and cut it out. YIPPY! I felt like someone had hit me in the back of the head with a mallet!

WHAT A WEEK!

Anyway, more pictures will come soon. Before you know it, Leah will be 6 months old (June 3rd!).
